brake warning light
On my `87 Caprice Classic 305 the brake warning light came on so I topped off the fluid but the light remains on. Brake peddle travel is good and my car has good braking. Am wondering what else triggers the warning light to illuminate. What else can I check? Thanks.

small leaks can cause this as well as large. check for leaks. with firm pressure on brake pedal does the pedal gradually drop all the way ? if so you have a leak. brake fluid leaks are hard to find when small as the fluid in hot weather evaporates. with a vehicle this old the rear brake cylinders start to leak. |

Re: brake warning light
Park brake switch will also turn on the red brake light, may check to make sure everything is ok there.
