cooling leaking!

Anyone have the hydraulic type with their v6? Have you had it leak? What was the cause? I think mine is leaking at the fan by the banjo fitting.

Are you leaking coolant or power steering fluid? I don't think your description of the problem is adequate.

If there is a leak at the banjo fitting, you can try torquing the fitting (47 ft-lbs) to see if that helps. Otherwise, you need to remove the bolt and install a new gasket.

There are also shaft seals and housing cover O-ring that can leak.

Be forewarned, the fan mounting nut to the motor is reverse threaded.

Brian I just de-greased it and just as you say.Banjo gasket may be leaking powersteering fluid.Gasket available over the counter?

Yes, probably only from Toyota. Try torquing the bolt first.

Hey Brian! When I got home this morning I decided to try what you suggested.At first I was hesitant.After hitting the banjo with a 1/2 ratchet and it was super tight.I pulled it apart and found the gaskets kinda warped.Maybe it was too tight.So I swapped them around and re-torqued them and so far so good.Thanks for the advice.

Next step is just a new gasket if you're sure that is the source of the leak.
