Ferrari SA Aperta

Hi Guys,
Here is my take on the Revell SA Aperta kit. I replaced the stock brakes and I believe the Aperta doesn't have the same brakes as the 599 GTO although the kit comes with them, also replaced the stock rims. Painted it pearl red, the interior is beige, here are the pics:

Very nice paint job with the pearl red, and some good interior details! You are right about the brakes. I would try to replace the front grill by a p/e one, or at least tone down the chrome a little. Those heavy Revell plastic parts spoil the appearance imo.

Re: Ferrari SA Aperta

Nice looking Aperta... Bravo!
Also, I plan to build an Aperta, during the summer.
What tyres are you use, with these 458 wheels?

Nice job! The 458 wheels look very appropriate on the Aperta. Yeah, what brakes did you use?

Re: Ferrari SA Aperta

Thank you guys!
As for the brakes, I cut off the calipers from the stock brakes and used them with the Fujimi F12 PE brakes disc and viola! The tyres came from my leftover box, I believe they are 19' and are stretched a bit to fit. As for the grille, they were molded in color not chrome, I painted them black and tried to paint the edges silver, and after I didn't succeed, started over and painted them silver, the same color as the roof and the rims. Might be the direct sunlight to fool the chrome effect, still they are way too thick :-(
