Re: 1/24 scale Lotus ELise from CGModels

I think I paid $10 and $12 for my 2 1/24 Welly Elise models. I'd rather spend the time to convert the Welly to an Exige than buy a $150 resin kit that barely takes me any further than the Welly Elise model. Then again, I have plenty of other models I already own that aren't getting built...

Re: 1/24 scale Lotus ELise from CGModels

True, the Welly die-cast IIRC is like many other die-cast though, and out of scale, a couple that I have are closer to 1/20 then 1/24, if not a bit larger than that

Still it's a nice looking resin kit, and I can attest to just how much work goes into a build up like that, but speaking for my own self, at 1/24 scale, I just have a hard time justifying these $150-200 model kits, especially if only curb-side!

the Welly Lotus Elise is very close (I can't measure it accurately so can't be that 100%) to 1/24 but I made a scaled version of the chassis and it fits as one would expect it to.
A cursory measuring of the length, height and wheelbase also indicates it is pretty close when compared to type approval drawings.

which reminds me... man, I really should dig out that thing and actually get at least one of them finished.

that's good to know, can't say the same for many die-casts I have found, so far most have been to large to some degree
