Nissan Leopard TR-X Turbo
Last year I bought a kit from a forummember. I bought it for cheap money but last week I discovered the body was totally warped. So I reshaped it with a lot of force and heating. It's much better now, and with the chassis in place it's totally straight.
It's a Nissan Leopard kit from Tamiya. It's very old and that means I can use an electric engine. There's also a driver figure and a little Honda scooter included. None of these parts will be used, so I have just a few parts left over ![]() ![]() ![]() The original wheels are very ugly. Just like the car itself. ![]() I had a set of 17'' RS Watanabe's from Fujimi laying in my stash for years, and they look much better. ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll go for a two-tone paint. I'll use Zero Paints Silver and Porsche Slate Grey. Kris.

Re: Nissan Leopard TR-X Turbo
These weird old Japanese cars always look so cool with a little attention. Where is the break in the two-tone going to be? Any plans for the body besides two tone? Can't wait to see what comes next.
Also, any chance you'll part with the Tact?

Re: Nissan Leopard TR-X Turbo
Last week I spent some extra time on this model because I'm going on vacation next week and 2 new projects are waiting for me.
So first I repared the sidefender because that was broken. After that I scribed out the panellines. Now it was time for some Zero Grey primer. When this was dry I painted the Silver paint and masked of the body to paint the Slate Grey. Yesterday I added the decals and put some extra decals on the body. The wheels were painted silver like the bodycolor, but it just didn't looked nice. So I painted it Metallic Grey (MS-5). This morning all was clearcoated using Zero 2K Clear. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now this can dry and I can go further with the chassis to lower it and mount the wheels. Kris.

Re: Nissan Leopard TR-X Turbo
Because of the commissioned builds at the moment, I couldn't go further with my own projects.
But now I decided to get further with these one, as it needs to be finished soon. First I start to lower the suspension which was pretty hard to realise. After that I glued the wheels in place. I also did the interior. I kept it simple using a black/brown combination. (always good!) The body is also finished. I added all the glass parts and other small parts. ![]() ![]() ![]() Meanwhile it's finished, but I need to make the photos yet. Kris.
