Learning vehicles, starting with basics.
I am 16, and i want to learn about vehicles. nothing to heavy or fancy, just enough to be able to fix my own stuff one day and be more of a "successful" person in my opinion. So i was wondering if someone could teach me, and answer questions without being too complex. I don't know what a ball joint even is and all kinds of stuff. so giving me basic information would help. just wanna learn, dads busy, and not many people to learn from, cant get around really, yata yata yata. Online classes and stuff get to heavy and go into electrons and all.

First thing you need to know is to control steering than go to the gear shifting, learn it step by step. you can get many free guides on this or you can simply get some help from any friend or friend's father who is professional car repairer.

What? OP, ignore whatever the heck she is trying to say. Do you know how to drive yet? If not, go find someone with a manual to teach you. Then go to the nearest mechanics shop and ask them if you can do a type of unpaid "internship" for them. While they boss you around and make you do stupid things, you might learn a thing or two.

Re: Learning vehicles, starting with basics.
you can't learn basic mechanics- you are mechanically inclined or you are not- even taking classes is a hit or a miss-
forget learning on the internet Get the proper manual and study it front to back you have the ability to understand, the ability to read and follow directions, over time you might understand and not need to read up on everything, over time- you might understand what a "mechanic" actually means- you can't "learn vehicles" you can come to grip with the basics of a vehicle and it's operation- but still very vague- interested- go to a trade school- then 2-4 years hands on- you might have it or you might not- some do some don't and never will- all else- when you get your drivers license- and you are responsible- get the repair manual for the vehicle you are allowed to drive- read it front to back- 2 times at least- then offer to do the regular maintenance and repairs as you learn 40 year mechanic- it's all about- do you have what it takes to understand and do it right the first time- or do you need to learn by doing it wrong and someone to show you the correct way |
