Jack it Up

Must raise th rear of my van. Because of the recall, ford put breckets on both sides of my axle eliminating 2in of clearence. The bracket bent my pipes. I put air shocks on but they leave me bouncing down the road with those coil springs. I'm use to leaf springs. Need to be High and Stable! No pun intended.

Re: Jack it Up

I added Airlift 1000 spring airbags to the rear of my Windstar, and have been pleased with them. They add a bit of lift and firms things up nicely.

Re: Jack it Up

Keep in mind that you need to adjust the pressure in the spring airbags for your application. I find that 10-15 psi is just about right for our van. Anything above 20 psi in the bags makes for a noticeably harsh ride.

Re: Jack it Up

Hey Phil-1

I understand, so far so good. I think the difference is that these shocke are load adjusting. I tend to throw weight in the back at any given time and the shocks compensate for the weight and the response of the air system (independent air valves). I still need tires. The ride will only get better.

Thanks for the input

Re: Jack it Up

Hey Phil-1

Had to streighten out a situation, air lift 1000 company was great with customer support. The line was calapsing, ang being cut off. The company sent me 2 additional spacers and heavior line. Now I'm using 2 spacers per wheel, changed the line on one side. The heavior line is great, but a pain to get on the bladder while still in the spring. Best thing to do, put the line on first, calaps the bladder, then cap the line. The line can still be routed through the under carridge. I use the independent air valves
Just what I was looking for. Thanks

Re: Jack it Up

wjamaica4 -

I'm pleased they're working out.

I was concerned about the lines - and spent extra timing to route them very carefully.

It'd be a good idea to wait a week or so, and then take a close look at your new line, so make sure nothing is rubbing it.

Phil
