Metal roof spacers - Do the small ones go in the rear?

I know the 3 longer ones go across the front, but what about these two smaller ones? Is this where they go? Could anyone verify?

Thanks,

Brian

Re: Metal roof spacers - Do the small ones go in the rear?

Could someone please go look at their car and tell me if they have spacers in the rear as pictured in the original post. I shouldn't take more than 2 seconds to poke your head in the car.

Thanks,

Brian

Mine does not. The straps extend from the main hoop directly to the roof, with no spacers. Hope that helps?

Yes, it does. I don't remember the spacers going there and it lifts the roof up a bit off the rear tub which would make bolting those holes more difficult. Problem is I can't remember where they go. I had them in my "roof hardware" baggie.

Hi Brian,
I checked my GTS and it has no spacers front or back! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I feel like I owe you a few. Got my car back on the track a couple months ago, just geared it down in order to get the 302 spinning a little quicker but haven't tested that yet. Good luck, and keep up the good work.
Bill.

Brian,
Any chance that the spacers are for the mirrors? Mine are aluminum and look to be about the same size -- but there would be six of the same thickness. I'll be in the shop later today and have a good look around the car.

Re: Metal roof spacers - Do the small ones go in the rear?

I have the 6 mirror spacers attached to the mirrors. They definitely don't go in the rear roof. It fits much better with them out. I think they go in front where the rocker panel has a tab that bolts to the lower part of the a-pillar near the cowl panel.

Brian, my car has the tabs but has neither spacers or even bolts through the tabs.
