Garage Sale Find

Paid 11$ total. I don't have them in hands yet just pics of box corner with model number. The model numbers are Tamiya BS1219 and BS1221. I've found few things about these. How old/valuable are these kits? Are they worth building or keeping? I was told one kit is completely unassembled and the other kit is half assembled. Thanks for any help.

Assuming you are referring to the 1/12 Ferrari 312T and Tyrrell P34 kits?

They are worth what somebody is willing to pay for them. For instance, I wouldn't pay much for them as I don't have much interest in either.

Good price, but not rare kits. Personally I prefer the newer kits with better quality decals and photo etch. If in good condition, each kit would be likely worth around $90. Half built, it would depend heavily on the build quality.

If it's the 1/12 kits, and you paid $11 for both, then laugh all the way to the bank!
On Ebay in the UK, unbuilts of these regularly go for £80+ EACH.......
The Ferrari can sometimes go much higher.

So....the P34 is all still in the bags. Only problem is 2 front tires melted?!? Been looking and all I can find are resin rain tires but I don't want to spend 30$ on 6 tires. The decals don't look too bad for their age. The Ferrari is a total loss.... Decals are yellow, peeling off the body. The kit is partially assembled/broken. No way to disassemble the kit that I know of. Only thing I can think of is keeping whats worth using for other models like the tubes and wires. If anyone needs parts for the Ferrari PM me if interested. Thanks for the info. Still don't know if im going to build the P34 or keep it.

I've bought parts from this person and service has been excellent. The stock rotates a lot so if he doesn't have what you need, be patient as it may appear.

Also indycals makes replacement decals so you might want to see if he has what you're looking for. Another source for decals is tamiya.
