2004 Freestar dieing while driving

While driving the Freestar will hesitate and die. I can put in N and crank to get off the road, but it will die several times within a block. Code shows camshaft position sensor. Here is the problem. I've replaced the camshaft position sensor at least eight times because it does this same thing about every 2 to 3 months. I've even changed the camshaft synchronizer that sits under the sensor thinking that might be it...no luck..done it 3 times since changing it 7 months ago. Most recently it died on my wife. I couldn't work on it until @ 5 hours later, then I cranked it and drove 10 miles and it didn't give any problems for @ 4 weeks, then did exactly the same thing. No rhyme or reason when it occurs done it on highway and also while stopped at red light. Also, bought the sensor from Advance and Napa thinking maybe it was a problem with the sensors....no difference. Doesn't give us any problems starting, driving, or at any other times, except when this occurs. Ideas????

Also, has recent coil, plug wires, and plugs. Happened before and after this was done
