None of the R33 or R34 kits include engine details, so those kits can benefit from the engine kit.
But if you can detail yourself, Tamiya's R32 kit will suffice. You can build it into a curbside, and use the engine parts for something else, and Tamiya's R32 kit is not too expensive.

Re: Hobby Design RB26 engine

I would be interested to see whether there will be a photoetch set included and whether this will improve it.

The intercooler on the photo looks a bit basic.

I'm sure there will be photo etch included, HD put PE in about everything they make.

You can use the block, but it will require some modification for the race version.

If you wanted to spend a little more money and are prepared to wait, Gionic (who is on this Forum) has produced a cracking little RB26, which has the parts for the race engine.

I know him, but the engines are no longer available.

Re: Hobby Design RB26 engine

I'm a bit disppointed with this - I hoped it would include a head with seperate cam covers (ala Gionc's RB26) to enable race versions to be built.....

HD recently released a really nice detail up set for the Group A R32, but we still can't build an accurate engine bay... Wish Gio would recast his.....

Re: Hobby Design RB26 engine

Hm...

...got a half finished Aoshima R32 here and that one is indeed stuck at the somewhat simplyfied engine. That might just be what I need...
