Reduced Engine Power

2005 Grand Prix GTP 120K

ABS
Traction Control
Reduced Engine Power
Variable Effort Steering

All this started the other night in the rain. Any ideas? The car will crank and if it does happen to start it will rev up and down for about 10 seconds and shut off. When I hit the gas it does nothing.

Re: Reduced Engine Power

Since you mention rain, and the vehicle, just by running rough, can cause all of those symptoms.....

Have a code reader to scan for codes?

If the weather is nice, lift the hood and let the engine dry out......look for anything out of the ordinary, like a disconnected harness or vac line.....

Pull vac line off fuel pressure regulator and see if fuel is in the line.....

Try starting with the MAF sensor disconnected....

After than you need to check for fuel pressure, spark and injector pulse.....
