02 Envoy SLE front end issue

Have an 02 Envoy SLE 4x4.

I changed both front hubs and outer tie rod ends as I had play up and down and side to side.
Passenger side is not tight without play.
Drivers side still has play up and down. The truck vibrates like crazy when braking. Any ideas what other part may need to be changed? It almost feels like the wheel is going to come off.

Thanks,

An extra set of eyes would be helpful, have some look for worn parts while you move the wheel. Possible you have worn ball joints or control arm bushings. Vibration when braking is usually caused by warped rotors. Replace them or have them resurfaced (if there is enough material on the rotors) also replacing the pads at this time would be a good idea.

"Passenger side is not tight without play". I don't quite understand that one...

Re: 02 Envoy SLE front end issue

Passenger side is now tight and there isn't any play.

I don't think that it is the rotors. I can move the tire grabbing the top and the bottom quite a bit. Even when the tire is on the ground, I can kick the top of the tire and see it move.

I'll take a look at the bushings and ball joints.

Thanks,

If it's moving that much, it should be pretty obvious. You may still have a brake pulsation that is being amplified by the worn part(s).

Re: 02 Envoy SLE front end issue

Thanks. Issue was balljoints OR lack of balljoints and warped discs.
