Turned out harder than I thought reaching only around the exhaust manifold I didn't notice the scratches on my arm until later. It was harder than I expected to line up the threads on the new filter. My advice is wrap an ace bandage or tape ...something around your upper wrist area to avoid this.

Are you suggesting that you changed the filter from the top (hood) side rather than from under the car? Yeah, I imagine that would be a challenge. I don't think you'll find it nearly as difficult if you change it from underneath when removing the drain plug to drain the oil.
