I have a 1986 mr2 1.6 t/c, it won't start, it won't even tick over. It has been stood for around 9 months and I just wondered where to start? I tried using jump leads, it then ticks over but won't start, any ideas?

Re: Mr2 won't start
First, give the battery a good charge or replace it. Then give it a shot and listen for the starter to engage as well as the fuel pump.
If it still doesn't engage, then check the starting circuit fuse, starter relay, and ground wires.

Re: Mr2 won't start
If its only tick its the starter. Try to tap it with a hammer and try to start it. If that doesn't go series it the battery it should turn over. If not have it replaced.

Re: Mr2 won't start
I agree with jdmccright - also while its stored I would put it on a trickle charger perhaps. Or if you live in a cold climate - take out the battery next time and store it while the car is stored.
