06 Silverado Tranfer case

I have replaced my trans and now I have a problem with it going into fall safe mode. I was told it was to do with a sensor on the transfer case. Could this be my problem? I can turn the truck off and turn it back on and it will shift out, but when I stop and start to take off it goes back into the fall safe mode, staying in high gear.

what is the vehicle doing wrong ? never heard of fall safe mode before.

what are the error codes ? drive train failure codes with a reader that reads these ?

Re: 06 Silverado Tranfer case

Thanks for the reply. I crank up shift into drive and it pulls off and shifts thru the gears when you stop and pull off it seems to be in high and will not shift. I then turn the truck off and start it back up and it then shifts thru the gears until I stop.

I have not had it put on a computer so I dont have any codes. Have been told it has to do with electronics at the transfer case.

IN THE TRANSMISSION are two solenoids. these after 180,ooo miles need replacing especially if you did not replace the fluid/filter on a regular basis and use the now GM dexron VI approved transmission fluid for your vehicle. dexron III is no longer the GM approved fluid.

anyway when these get eaten by the acidic fluid they can stick. sometimes you will loose 3rd or 4th gear when worn bad enough ..
