2001 Gran Prix leaking gas

Daughters's car has been a good one for awhile. About two months ago, she started smelling gas inside but we could find no obvious leak. Changed the cap but still intermittent smell. Then, last week, she started seeing gas pouring from under the engine, at about the level of the tires. She parked it but when I went and started it yesterday, immediately it started running again. I can't see anything from the top (3800 engine) so I'm wondering what to check first. Is it fuel line (I hope), fuel pump or...? Thanks for any ideas/help

Sounds like a fuel line to me, the pump is in the fuel tank. Some of those had plastic fuel lines up to the fuel rail that would leak. shouldn't be too tough to find as bad as it is leaking...
