Looks pretty nice! Too bad I'm not a Porsche fan...

Would rather like them to make a full detail 917 or something else more exciting from the Porsche history!

I wish I liked that car. I hate the Carrera GT. Seems like the next one will be the 288 GTO if they keep going with these. That's one I'd be interested in.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

Is it mighty impressive kit, imho. Look at scans of instructions here http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10205955.
Great base for super detailed project. I like the car, so got this kit and have no regrets.
But I would agree with others - 1/12 kit of racing car would be much more exciting.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

I can see it having a spot next to the Enzo, all they need to do is a nice Aston in 1/12 and I'l be a happy (if broke) man

Bring back the Caterhams too.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

I have the kit. It's quite impressive. Will be doing something detail-oriented for it for Scale Auto Magazine.

I sure hope Tamiya does the 288 GTO next

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

I'm not a great Porsche fan either, but out of ALL the road cars they've made, this is the one I like the best. (or at least, the one I DON'T like, the least... if you get me...)
HOWEVER..... It's Tamiya, it's 1/12, it's new -
It's ordered......!!!
UK price is £185-ish which is HALF the price of the similar Enzo kit. (Which I've already got too)
But I have to agree - a 1/12 full detail Aston Martin DBR9 would be bl--dy AMAZING!!
C'mon Tamiya - make one!

Roy.

Your a Lucky man Bob!!!! Cant wait to see it! Was rather disapointed with their 1:12 Enzo review (not your review), a kit like that needs a multipage feature not a kit review rightup with 3 little photos of the outside!

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

That was actually my review in Scale Auto and was for the reissue of the 1/24 scale kit and not the 1/12 scale as noted at the top of the review. I had several people in my club ask about it too and had to explain. There should be an upcoming article of the big kit in the near future.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

Bump - anyone else messed with these? I wonder why it doesn't seem like there are any detail up kits like there are for the Enzo.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Carrera GT

Enzo is a more popular car and more interesting to detail, especially in the engine bay.
