454 chevy truck engine into 1979 Camaro
hello I have a 1984 454 out of a motor home I want to install into my 1979 z28 camaro is any problems with oil pan not fitting . I have made some cardboard templates to check the clearance looks like it will fit any comments ?

Welcome to AF, make sure that is not a high deck truck engine and those engines had very small ports and valves, not really performance oriented.

thanks for the info I have put 781 heads with 2.190 and `1.88 ex. new cam.what I need to know will the stock oil pan fit in the Camaro ?

Are you trying to install the big block on small block motor mounts? If I remember correctly you need to find a set of big block motor mounts in order for things to fit correctly. I tried to install a BBC 402 into my 1973 Camaro years ago and just found it to be too much of a hassle to stick the big block in there. Not to discourage you, in fact I hope you do it. Keep us updated on the build.
