How hot is the engine getting in degrees F? If you have a coolant recovery reservoir, is it boiling over?

Re: 85 s10 blazer, overheat

What antifreeze are you using, Green or Orange? What color is your antifreeze now, Brown muddy looking? When was the last time you flushed the cooling system? Are you using A 50/50 MIX? Are you using distilled water with your antifreeze? Have you ever replaced the Radiator? How about the Fan and Shroud, still in good shape?

You might try a good flush and try running straight water as a test and see if that helps. You have no need to worry about freezing in Phoenix now. If this is the original radiator, you probably need a new one.
