MPG Question
Hey all. I have a 96 Dodge Stratus. It has the 2.0l with the 5 speed manual trans. I had the car for a year now and when i first got it I was getting 27 mpg but now it gets 20. I did plugs, wires, fuel and air filter. I have done ethanol treatments and used high octane fuel. I am told it should be over 30 mpg. The engine runs and idles great. The car has 153000 miles on it.
Any ideas on how to increase the mpg and what kind of mpg should I expect out of this car? Thanks

Re: MPG Question
Are you still getting 20 mpg? When was the last time you cleaned the throttle body? Changed the 02 sensor recently? No CEL?

Re: MPG Question
This might be a obvious question, but when was the last time you replaced the timing belt. Is the check engine light on? If so, get the codes read. Does the car have a funny smell coming out the back of the tailpipe? Sulfur smell? Gas smell? If sulfur, its cat, if gas, your sensors are not working properly, or timing is off.
