92 ford ranger starts hard

I have 92 ford ranger 2.3 PFI waste spark system, truck starts hard sometimes it just cranks and then starts or it grunts like the timing is off then another attempt it kick out the starter drive while it cranks. another attempt a revolution and a half it pops right off. it appears the dis module has been replaced new starter, i replaced crank sensor, balancer and plug wires. plugs look like things are a little rich. i double checked the cranksensor voltage which is around 6v but with the DVOM connected it starts normally. Help.

Re: 92 ford ranger starts hard

I don't suppose you noticed any check Engine Light (CEL) indication, did you. It looks like you've tried replacing relevant parts at random. if I were you I would take it to a shop and have them run a diagnostic check. It'll cost you around a hundred bucks but it may save you time and money in the long run to be able to pinpoint your problem.
