2013 chevy spark tech 2 software help

hello all. i need a chevy guru on this one. i have a 2013 spark that i bought used with collision damage. its currently my daily driver but i want to start getting it fixed. i have my own personal tech 2 scan tool with 2013 gm software. i am unable to communicate with this vehicle with my 2013 gm software. do i need different software to see this vehicle with my tech 2?
