Question 1986 Monte carlo SS engine swap

I have a 1986 monte carlo ss with the factory 305 hp I want to swap it with a 6.0 gm ls with 325 horsepower out of a chevy Silverado.....from my understanding my car weights 3,387 pounds which is almost less than half of the weight of a Silverado?
I want to know since my car is lighter will it produce more than 325 horsepower with the factory 6.0 gm ls engine?

Welcome to AF. How does the weight of the car change an engine's hp?

Not sure where you are going with this but 325 hp is the same whether it is sitting on the ground or in a car/truck. Obviously your much lighter MC would be way quicker than the truck the engine came out of.

Unless you really want to race competively I would leave it alone, just good exhaust and gearing, you know you will need a compatable trans set up as this is an all computer controlled engine so plenty of harness changes will have to be done.

I have 3.73 gears and planned on putting a set of 243 heads with a ls3 are ls6 intake with a street cam and as far as transmission I planned on going with the 4L60e are the 700r4. What do you think about the combination if I didn't stay stock?

I don't with stock heads you will reach those power levels. Check some of the LS build- ups by various magazines online.
