CV joints

How expensive are CV joints? How hard are they to install? Should I do it or have it professionally done?

In my experience, installing a whole drive axel is a lot more time efficient, but if you know some mechanic who will do the joint for you, have him do it for you. If not, youll have to pay for labor as well as the parts. If you replace the whole axel, it will run you about 65-75 dollars. Most places charge about 60 for labor so the choice is yours, but in my experience, the whole axel might be better unless you really know what you're doing. Those joints tend to be kinda tricky, at least for me.

I agree. I'd just replace the whole axle.

Does anybody know where to get them online for these low prices? Are the left axles more expensive than the left axles?

Do the whole axle, its easy. Most any auto parts store will sell axles. The driver side one might cost more since it is longer in most D-series.
