Stuck Tailgate 1994 S10 Blazer

Hi!

My Blazer was hit at a right angle right at the tailgate before I bought it and the door seems to be pinched shut. Putting the key in and turning the handle doesn't do anything at all. I'm trying to figure out if I can somehow remove the door's interior panel and access the mechanism while I'm applying pressure (read kicking the inside of the door like a made mule...) to get it open and then maybe use a hydraulic jack to spread the doorframe back apart. Any ideas??
