1986 caprice engine swap

Hi guys i have a 1986 caprice right now it has a 305 with the carb v8 and i was thinking about what motor to put in there. what would be the best motor with out having to do to many modifications. i really want to know what chevy engine will fit and trans so i can buy it from the chevy house(chevy dealership)i was thinking about maybe a 91 and up caprice. please guys i need your help

Whats a efi im sorry im not to much of a mechanic or have alot of knowledge on cars

Electronic Fuel Injection.

If you are not, then there is no need to start with a 91+ engine.

I'd point you to something like this:

You should just be able to walk into any GM dealer and order it if they don't already have it. Doesn't have to be a Chevy dealership, and if one doesn't have it, they will let you know, where in town, one might be.
