REVELL Mercedes DTM Laureus 1:24

Hello!
I show a Revell MB-DTM-kit in Laureus colors.
The car was the former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher. The model was on the discs and inside completely covered with CF decals of Renaissance.
The model was painted outside with 2K paint as a base and top coat as Alclad chrome.
In the last image you can see the base with driver's signature.
regards Ralf

Amazing! Did you apply the decals directly over the Alclad?

Hello!
Thanks for looking.
@sam01contact
Yes, the decals are affixed right on the paint .With clearcoat loses the alclad its color mirror effect.

Did you use any decal setting solution? I wonder if the solution would damage or stain the Alclad.

Re: REVELL Mercedes DTM Laureus 1:24

Hello!
The decals are very thin and can be very smooth with the brush.
You should be very careful when Decalwork.
But if you are building for exhibitions, it is better to seal the Alclad.

Excellent work, there are not too many of the Revell Mercs getting done. You say you sprayed the car with 2K first before Alclad, was this a black or clear?

Hello!
Yes, I have first painted matt black and than with 2-component clearcoat.
The 2K paint I can polish a smooth surface for achieving Alclad.
regards Ralf
