94 3100 MAF question
I have a Grand Prix SE with a 3100 SFI V6. The car has been running poorly so I've been doing a bit of troubleshooting. I went to check the MAF and I can't locate it. I've removed the air filter housing and the air intake hose to the throttle body, but that is all there is. The only wires are to the air temp sensor.
I'm starting to wonder if it ever had one. I can't locate the three wire plug either. Any thoughts whether it had one or not? |

Re: 94 3100 MAF question
I believe it's bolted on the throttle body. If you have the intake ducting off you should see the "honeycomb" where the ducting connected to the engine, that's your MAF.

Re: 94 3100 MAF question
I went to the local salvage yard and looked at a few of the related autos. I saw one with the MAF on top of the throttle body, which is unlike the one I have. The others were missing the intakes, but I was able to locate the three wire harness. The intake pieces I could find were shorter by half. I'll post a picture when I can.

Re: 94 3100 MAF question
some vehicles use only a map sensor, no maf. seems the 3.1 is one of those. is your check engine light on?

Re: 94 3100 MAF question
Is the 8th digit of the VIN a "T" or an "M"?
