Code 1404 Extended Travel Valve Pintle Stuck Open

Just retrieved this enhanced code on my scanner. I am not having any issues with the van. What does this code mean and what type of issues can I expect if it is not fixed immediately.

What year? There is a recalibration for the 2001, other than that you probably have a sticking EGR valve...The code indicates that the EGR valve is still open after the PCM commands it closed. You may or may not notice any issues.

1998 venture LS. I can get to one bolt of the EGR pretty easliy hard to get to the back bolt. Is it the same as the front?

Yes, they are the same size...
