Revell (Italeri) Porsche 993 Turbo
Not built for the 50th Anniversary but there wasn't a completed 993 Turbo so I thought I'd dig it out of storage for some photos.
As in the title, Revell 993 Turbo. Body is Tamiya TS-17 Gloss Aluminium, interior is a mix of Tamiya Flat Greys and wheels are Ford Strato Silver for a different silver finish to the body. Built a while back but never got round to documenting it and there were so many accidents that put me off finishing it for a while. Photography hides many sins.

Re: Revell (Italeri) Porsche 993 Turbo
Everything looks great except the stance. IMO Skinnier tires with it lowered would look a lot better. I know how revell kits can be, you just want to finish it and get it over with sometimes. Other than that finish and details are perfect.

Re: Revell (Italeri) Porsche 993 Turbo
What the kit/car needs, is much bigger wheels.
I've already added about 1.5mm to them using a strip of plastic-card wrapped around the edge and (badly) reshaped the wheels themselves but even with those fat tyres, they don't fill the arches properly. Now that I've called this one finished and committed to these already enlarged wheels, I think that the ones from the Tamiya 996 Carrera are the only ones that properly fit the kit. By the way, the front off-side wheel doesn't actually float off the floor. I had positioned the model badly on the curved background and didn't notice until I came to review the photos.

Re: Revell (Italeri) Porsche 993 Turbo
exactly. the wheels are the only real problem here (as well as the empty front lights)
Also maybe the classic BBS spocket rims coming from tamiya gt2 can be good for this project. The turbo 993 is one of the nicest ever, and this is the only way to have one. ![]()

Re: Revell (Italeri) Porsche 993 Turbo
Tamiya GT2 for chassis+details
Tamiya 996 Carrera for wheels Tamiya 959 for engine block (that'll need some work...) Revell/Italeri for body and interior That is my ultimate 993 Turbo build.
