Completed: 1/24 Tamiya Peugeot 307 WRC
Hey all,
Sorry there was no progress thread with this build but it was kind of a first build to get me back into the hobby last year, I'm reasonably happy with it but was rather restricted thanks to the awful metal base Tamiya decided to use for the kit, it made adding any detail work difficult to say the least and in my eyes cheapens the model and makes it feel more like a Burago diecast. Anyway, a few details were added both from the Crazy Modeler etch set and some scratch built stuff. I also added the night stage light box ont he front from an old Heller kit I had in the spares box. A big thank you to Robi (Robi J), Phil (rallymaster) & Tang (auw12) for the help with the reference photos, as always thanks a million ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next up is the Hasegawa 1/24 Ford Focus from 2000. I am almost nearly finished on a build of the 1979 and 1980 Williams FW07 which is nearly completed too, I'll get some completed pics of those here. The thread is over at F1M if anyone is interested. Sean

Looking great.
I love the treatment on the wheels: white wheels often look like plastic and yours seem really realistic. Nice details on the inside.

Very nice model. The light pods set it apart.

Yes very cool indeed, and the wheels really are nice and subtle, really bring it to life.
I'm tempted to pick one of these up now... |

Re: Completed: 1/24 Tamiya Peugeot 307 WRC
Waow, Sean you're highly welcome, as I see you did your best with the references we share with you.
Very nice model, I love the details. Being more than maniac I would just say two little things:- in the 307 seatbelts are crossed (right and left upside down) on each seat to be attached to the bar. ![]() - I think the lighpod is a bit two much over the hood, it should be more forward... ![]() http://www.gpc-motorsport.com/projec...wrc_nuit_1.jpg http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...7nuit1cuo.jpg/ but really that doesn't change anything to the great work you've done on this superb 307 WRC. ![]() Wheels are one of the most beautiful parts !! |

I would just say two little things:- in the 307 seatbelts are crossed (right and left upside down) on each seat to be attached to the bar. ![]() - I think the lighpod is a bit two much over the hood, it should be more forward... ![]() Thanks Phil, yes you are quite right. I think the light pod is not the best as it comes from a Heller kit, I tried to place it further down on the bonnet but the spotlights then pointed to the ground at too much of an angle and made it look silly... I will just have to accept it as it is ![]() Thanks to everyone for all your comments, as for the wheels - I have had a couple of messages asking how I weathered them. I also paint metal miniature figures (Warhammer) and I use water based paints by Citadel for these. They are however great for weathering too. For these wheels I used a mix of dark brown and black ink, this was then carefully ran into the recesses of the wheels. I finally picked out the bolts with silver once this had dried and then gave it another wash of the same mix over the top to dull the silver slightly.
