I have a 2002 PT Cruiser and yesterday when I went to start the car the key would not turn at all. I have tired using a different key, spraying WD40 in cylinder, wiggleing and jiggleing the key while trying to turn it, and moving steering wheel in case the steering wheel lock had it. Nothing!!!
All the research I have been able to find on removing the cylinder says you need to put the key in and turn it to run to be able to remove it. There in lays the problem. I cant turn the key to be able to line up the button to release the cylinder. Right now I have the steering column covers removed and took loose the electric switch which I can use a screwdriver to turn and be able to drive it for now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
