Unhappy One wing but it still isn't flying

Superbird is coming soon, I don't have any masking tape for the window trim left so it will be another week most likely.

I can't seem to get over Plymouth's reason for such a large wing. A wing is ok, but that' just overhaul.

Anyway looks very nice!

It actually helped with the aerodynamics of the huge car at speeds over 150 m.p.h. The wing helped keep the car stable because the car was capable of 200+m.p.h. Great work so far, Jake!

The Dodge Daytona has a 3 foot wing (seriously, 3ft) aswell so it isn't just Plymouth. I think it suits the car well though, it's got so many bland lines on it something wild to interupt them looks good.

Thanks for the comments I just realised I got some black paint on the boot lid when I was painting the roof :o might be able to rub it off though, the Tamiya paint is about 3 weeks old now, only painted the roof last week.

Looking great. One of my favorites. I heard that this car was more stable at high speeds than normnal cruising speed, is this true?

So is the car The Superbird is over 5.5M long and close to 2M wide, with a 1M tall spoiler and a 440ci engine, all up every single part of this car is big!

I'm not too sure on that but it doesn't sound right to me. I think that this thing would of been very stable at any speed really though. It weighs so much and as I just pointed out it is so big, it would of been pretty stable. When I finish this look at some of the pictures I take and from most front angles you will see it looks like a Land Boat! Literaly, a boat!

The real reason that wing is so tall? Because it was attached to the fenders, and the trunklid needed that all that vertical space to open...

LOL!!! I think He's right

Look at on of those pics. If the wing was lower you would have a nice scratch on your trunk and wing.

You've got a good eye Zoom Zoom.

I stand corrected; I must have read some incorrect info. I'm human.

Well a little bit from column A and a little bit from column B. They needed it around that tall enough to get into clean air, but the actual height was set so that the trunk could open.

Your more right then anyone now. Plymouth did originally design the spoiler to help with the insane speeds, but once Plymouth realised the long boot wouldn't open they had to make it that tall.

Go to http://www.wwnboa.com for pictures and alot of info on B bodies (Chargers, Roadrunners, GTXs, ie big bodied Mopars) and the Winged Warriors (Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Superbird)
