advice an these cars

I'm looking for a car and I found 2 of them but I would like advice on which one to actually buy.

Car number 1 is a 2000 mercury sable estimated 135 000 miles. On the passenger side right above the front tire is a dent that I could easily fix it. I asked if t anything like steering or radiator was affected by it, but was told it was fine. Asking price is $2000

Car number 2 is a 2000 pontic sunfire estimated 185 000 miles. When I first saw it I was like "oooh sports car!" This one doesn't have any dents. It was originally $4000. I got it down to $2500. I'm starting to wonder why. I checked the safety ratings and...wow they're bad.
The mercury has a 6 cylinder engine and the sunfire has a 4. I know the 4 gets better mpg . I travel a lot and good mpg is a big thing. But those safety ratings have me a little worried.

Re: advice an these cars

If both cars are in good same driving condition the Sable will be the better choice, the Sunfire has seen 12 years come and gone, so what exactly bothers you about safety ?

Have you test driven both of these cars ?

Is there a links where these cars can be viewed to check for red flags ?

On the passenger side right above the front tire is a dent that I could easily fix it. I asked if t anything like steering or radiator was affected by it, but was told it was fine. Did you really expect any other answer ,,, Taking vehicle to an independent mechanic would be the right step for a valid answer.

If you think Dealers and salespeople are the # 1 scum in the industry - think again

Maybe soon gas stations will start showing PORN movies on the
screens of the pumps
so that you can watch someone else get screwed
simultaneously
