leaking fuel line

My 99 burb has developed a leak in the return fuel line that comes off the fuel tank.It appears that the rough snowy roads have caused the line to vibrate within its mounting clamp and caused a leak.I am looking for a new line,but I am wondering if GM will be the only supplier?Does any one know of other suppliers or part numbers to use to get a replacement?Thanks.

these lines esp. the return line have leaks occur. cut out the bad section and replace with a 5/16in steel line. the lines for the quick connect are available at the auto part stores. this will have the proper end portion to accept the plastic quick connect fitting[if needed]. then using the compression fittings to complete the rest of the section corroded.

for some reason this return line leaks near the fuel tank on all vehicles.

sometimes the line leaks from the line being porous.

Thanks for the info.My line is leaking in behind the crossmember where the shock is mounted.This job is going to involve dropping the tank to gain access to everything.

suck gas out . I use two 5 gallon containers. pick up is easy job. make sure you disconnect every thing first. easy on the plastic lines/nipples. a disconnect tool works very good.

A few years back I had the pleasure of having to change my fuel pump.It of course had a full tank of gas.At least this time I can have some control over the amount of fuel in the tank.I have checked with GM for the parts.They are a week to ten days away.They are sitting in Cincinatti.I am thinking of even changing the pressure line while I do this job.

if all the lines look rusted then doing the complete r/r is a good idea. not easy job. good luck.
