I have a Toyota Prius 2002 but the engine keeps dying

i've bought this car in 2008, recently i've been having problems with this car. My car just died in the middle of the road two weeks ago, like the engine wouldn't start. i send it to a repair shop, they fixed it yesterday, but it work for awhile then the died, i have to restart the car, then it died again. it keeps doing that. what should i do, should i just abandon the car?
