4.3l vin w 1994 s10 it idols at 500 and jumps 1500rpm and loading up on fuel help!!!!!

I have a 4.3l CPi vin w 1994 s10 zr2
At a idol it revs up and down from 500.-1500rpms? Loading up on fuel and dies after idoling after a short time. And while going down the road it cuts out like its going to die then it catches itself. Yesterday I put a new idol air controls sensor on and it fixed nothing !!!!! Can any one help ???????help help

Ok I will tomorrow and see what it does ..can u clean them ??? A lot of people say my truck prolly has a vacume leak or is out of time ?? But its loading up on fuel ...:/ thanks for responding !!

yes you can clean them.........when the egr valve sticks open thats what you have a BIG vacum leak........on mine i cleaned the egr valve and then left the elect unpluged
no more problems..............

check for vacuum leaks. pcv hoses etc. the IAC is only working at idle speed. if engine acting up over idle speed going down road the EGR would cause black smoke to come out because instead of too much air you have too much NO getting into the intake reducing combustion temps.

I would check for a blue spark. plug wires distributor cap/rotor/coil.

could also be bad gas/water in gas. this is what would cause all the issues you mentioned..

never had black smoke on mine just ran like chit..............

Was the egr was stuck open cleaned it put on and adjusted distributor runs pretty good Ty nhra

the engine lite will stay on but no more cleaning the egr vavle...................cheers

I have always seen black smoke with a egr stuck open . exhaust gas has no oxygen so the burn of fuel is little/very poor. idle is poor and little power. also the converters will get very hot.

yeah no mine never had any smoke at all.just bad miss and cutting off>>>>>>> oh yeah what converter.........lol....i live in florida no worries here.........cheers

well no not bad but you will have to clean it again in about 2 -3 mths
i left mine unplugged no more cleaning but does run alittle rich and the lite stay on but way better that cleaning the egr everytime...............cheers
