Smile [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

Started some work on the engine. I'll get there, slowly but surely. If anyone has reference pics for this car please let me know, google is not helping me at all.

Hi, nice start with engine block. Which version are you exactly building, road or race car (I suppose race as we are in the motorsport section but which version ?)
It may help to share references.

PS: I add your link to the Tribute list, thanks for joining !

Re: [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

Thanks for the references guys, it's really gonna help. I plan on doing some wiring on this model and maybe some weathering. More to come tonight after the kiddos are asleep.

and I plan on doing the #26 car, I was gonna do the test version (brown looking one) but I see someone already did that one, plus I'm currently bidding on the decals on eBay lol, and I already did the #25 car a few years ago. Don't know where the mirrors went though

Re: [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

Hey indecentkikogt check out the following link to another GT1 build. It is in Russian, but the pictures scattered thoughout are good.

http://forum.autoinscale.com/viewtopic.php?id=3523

I was working on the Carbon Fibre test version that I had started and got about 10% completed last year and a few years ago.

I do have some other pictures I can send you as well.

Re: [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

I know this russian build too, it is incredible what he did! He posted the model somewhere here in the forum long time ago, and when i searched for references i found it.
I agree that google sometimes don`t help much, i havbe the same problem with a few cars that are well known, but still not much to be found with google picture surch

Has anyone pictures of this car with open front bonnet?? I don`t have much of this area and some questions are open to the details.

Edit: If anyone likes to get the references i have collected from the net over the years, feel free to contact me

Re: [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

Thanks Trash69, I speak fluent Russian, just kidding, but I did date a Russian girl once. That build is simply amazing. Although my skills are nowhere near that, I plan on adding some detail to the model.

Gp-models, thanks for all the reference pics, as I said they will come in handy. I will send you an email with the other cars I would like reference pics for if you have them.

Update tonight, I promise.

Red face Re: [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

Small update

Trying to go for this look...

The scale of my yellow wire though is off. It's too big. Where do you guys get your small detailing wires and small drill bits? Everything I have is to big (that's a first) again this is my first attempt at doing this kind of wiring and whatnot

Re: [911 Tribute] Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1

Good start so far. Looking forward to seeing more. I'm hoping to get some work done on my GT1 today.

For the smaller scale wires, look for a dealer that has Detail Master stuff. Also I know Scalemotorsports has wiring as well as the carbonfibre decals.

Also search detailmaster on Ebay. lots of hits,

Top Studio has some nice electrical connectors for the electronics on the interior and enginebay.

Hope this helps some.

David
