'86 Nissan Leopard F31 - Aoshima
Hello everybody!'
![]() So I want to contribute to the portfolio of Nissans with my Leopard F31 1986. Leopard was produced to compete with Toyota Soarer in sales but in the longterm it failed to gain the popularity. It lived long enough to undergo a facelift but then the production of the big coupe was stopped. Interestingly, Leopard F31, sold as Infiniti M30, was designed on the platform of Skyline R31 (hence similarities in the frontal section) and Laurel. Modern Leopards are not big coupes anymore ![]() I chose the Ultima version with the optional BBS RS, roof window + wind deflector and front bumper lip. I also switched rims to Sparco N1 I sprayed the body with Tamiya TS-30 (which comes out easily when not clearcoated) and followed the two-tone scheme with gunmetal (wanted light gun metal but accidentaly took different bottle ) - I have not seen any Leopard with this paintscheme yet.![]() Rubbed paint after the touch Aoshima provides nice options for the suspension settings - Normal, Low and my Custom version (only after reshaping axis holders) Centers of the rims are white Zero Paint, outer rims are done by airbrushing Alclad II Chrome. I also sanded the tyrewalls with the Pirelli and Pirelli Zero lettering and airbrushed Yokohama instead - the stencil found in Tuner Model Factory PE parts for BMW Z4 And clearcoated with Zero 1K - I have bad surface so I need to polish hard. Unfortunatelly during the polishing I cracked the edge of the hood. FUUU ![]() |
