Pocher resurrection.
Looks like Hornby who own the Pocher brand are going to be bringing the brand back to market at the Nuremberg Toy Fair on 30 Jan 2013.
I've only built the Alfa Monza but Pocher are the ultimate challenge. http://www.pocher.com/

Thats awesome news for many modellers. I myself would love to own the f40 and the porsche. How much did these kits cost when they were still in production. I know they were going for about 400-700 within the last 5 years or so on the bay.

They were always mega-bucks, even when new.
The Alfa Monza cost me £220 in the mid 1980's! The Merc and Rolls were well over £300. Roy.

nice idea, but dunno really if they can match today detail standard.
had the 993, of course. a brick of metal and very few plastic parts. disappointed. Unless they will finally reissue decently that 1/8 ferrari 126 c2 seen some years around from another company.

I remember paying US$200 for my Alfa Monza. I imported it from Valley Plaza Hobbies back in the early 1990s who had them on sale at the time.
The story is Hornby are relaunching the Pocher brand with a line of new models with new materials. Its all just talk at the moment and it we'll have to wait for the Nuremberg show for the facts.

The Porsche 993 is my favorite 911 ever, speaking purely about design. I really love it! I hope that the new Pocher make its 1/8 model available again!
 By the way, I think that, despite having an ABS plastic body, the old 1/8 scale model by Pocher Rivarossi reproduced the real car very well.

Is the pic above of the Pocher kit?
Not meaning to sound offensive, but it looks like a fairly basic Fujimi or Revell kit. - there are so FEW parts considering it's massive size. It looks like entire large pieces that 'ought' to be made in lots of separate parts that need assembling. Hopefully the reborn Pochers will be better than that. 1/8 is great to see again, but I'd want far more 'bang for my buck' than that one. The Porsche above definitely WON'T be on my wants or wish list. I had the Early Alfa 2300 and it had around 2000 parts - THAT was a real kit!! Roy.

The original Pocher ' Classic ' range of kits had more parts than the later ' Prestige ' range that included the Porsche and Ferrari F40/ Tesstatrossa.
A lot of those extra parts were the spokes for the wire wheels and all the umpteen screws to build it with. The latter range just glued together. Pocher instruction manuals http://www.pocher.net/english/modelmanual.html
