Anyone else excited with prospect of MFH F1 GTR ?

It looks like MFH figured out their licensing with McLaren and finally is developing F1 GTR full detail kit for 2013. See picture below.
They don't say it is F1 GTR and are putting "?" in the announcement. But from the pictures and comments from a member of f1m.com forum,
who visited MFH recently and saw CAD images, it's pretty much certain that kit is of F1 GTR. Picture only shows chassis, so it's not possible
to say if it's going to be short or long tail version. My guess would be short tail first and hopefully long tail next at some point. I guess we'll learn
more later, as they post more progress.

Best news of 2012, if you ask me. One of my most dreamed cars. I would have preferred it to be 1/12. But 1/24 will do as well.

Just wait for the announcement of the price, that will cool down lots of exitement - especially when hiroboy will offer that kit, ´cause at the moment their top-sellers are about 100 % more expensive than f.e. from hlj ( Sauber F1: http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/produ...9#.UNSe5qyQOvg - http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ09141 ;; Red Bull F1: http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/produ...0#.UNSfI6yQOvg - http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM20067 )

If they make it an injection kit then it's fine otherwise not at all excited about a +350€ price for a resin kit.

Re: Anyone else excited with prospect of MFH F1 GTR ?

There was talk a few months back on Aoshimas' Facebook page about them doing the same car.

It would be a far more affordable offering if they do actually produce it.

I wonder if MFH will do the body of this F1 GTR in resin or plastic like their new T4 ?

Re: Anyone else excited with prospect of MFH F1 GTR ?

I'll wait until Aoshima announces their next supercar kit presumably in mid April since it could well be the McLaren F1.

If Aoshima releases something else, and Fujimi continues ignoring it (even though they have the license), MFH can be an alternative as long as the price is right. Their T4 is relatively inexpensive compared to other full kits, but 15000+ yen range is still too high for me because I can buy three, four or even more injection kits for the same money.

I'm sure it will be a nice kit but the price is out of my range. I would pay DEARLY for a good stock F1 kit though.

I would bet on Aventador J

But I also prefer F1 GTR...

I wouldn't bet on Aoshima. They seem to be concentrated on domestic subjects mostly. And I doubt they have what it takes to
make licensed full detail McLaren F1 kit.

Hiro, if you had 312T4 in your hands you would know that it is unfair to compare it to a plastic kit. It only has 2 trees of plastic parts,
which is may be 25-30% of total number. It has a lot of metal parts, including quite a few turned parts and mesh for velocity stacks.
I cannot come up with similar set of plastic kit and after market parts to make up same level of detail. The only thing which could come close
is MP4/4 plastic kit with TopStudio super detail set. That combination could be comparable to what MFH provides in their 312T4. And you're
immediately in the same price range.

I wish MFH would do F1 GTR as hybrid kit a well. Because, imho, it would outsell 312T4 as more popular subject. Actually road F1 would
probably sell even better.

New pictures posted. Anyone can see now it really is a F1-GTR.

Re: Anyone else excited with prospect of MFH F1 GTR ?

I'm waiting it since 1995. I will buy at least one anyway, because there is too much time to finish my own full detail. For me the time is much more expensive. Also, I'm waiting news from Aoshima.

Re: Anyone else excited with prospect of MFH F1 GTR ?

I have to add that 3D model from MFH has some imperfections comparing to my own 3D.

But I need a powertrain with exhaust system, a suspension, a cooling system, brakes, etc.

I hope that's not the final 3D model from MFH and they will have all the details
when it finished.

Yeah, there is a lot of work needed and if you're not full time on it, like designers
at MFH are, it could take a long time to complete.

If it's not a hybrid kit, then typical Y29000-Y30000, I would expect. Not cheap,
but if you want full detail F1-GTR, like I do, there aren't any options at present.

One point for the future. If it's true, that Fujimi is copying successful MFH's
models, then we could expect plastic copy in the future. But I cannot
predict the future and I doubt anyone else could say it is for sure going to
happen. In other hand recently it pays off to not jump on with MM kit, and
rather wait and see what will come out in plastic later. MP4/27 and C31 and
rumored E20 are stark examples. At least that's the situation on Formula1 kits
market.

Peanuts, only around 300-350 Euro when you factor in the taxes.
