New PCM wrong mileage

I had to order a new PCM for my van. I told them the wrong mileage by 20, 000 miles. Will this cause any problems? Thanks!

Re: New PCM wrong mileage

To be honest I'm not totally sure. I know they ask for it. I don't think it's for any functional reason. The BCM controls the odometer reading. I've seen hints it may be more of a regulatory matter with the EPA but nothing concrete. Give them a call and ask.

Got a no start, rough running situation?

Re: New PCM wrong mileage

I wont affect the cars operation but could cause problems at emission testing or at time of sale unless you're up front about it and have that mileage discrepancy clearly stated on the bill of sale.
