Ferrari Enzo
I've had Tamiya's Enzo (and a lot of upgrade parts), along w/Revell's glue Enzo, for years, but it took getting Revell's new snap kit Enzo as a review subject for Scale Auto to get me to actually build one. Someday I'll get to the Tamiya Enzo, or at least their FXX...
Finally sharing photos of my "Upgrade review" of Revell's snap Enzo, my third Revell snap kit build in the past year (they're picking good subjects that I'd gladly build for myself, so why not?). I like the 2-tone paint schemes seen on many of today's Ferraris, especially ones w/gloss black roofs, so that's how I painted it. Chevy engine red substitutes Italian or Scuderia red, cleared w/decanted U-Pol power can clear run through my Grex. My "quick/easy" tweaks are using leftover Crazy Modeler emblems, aftermarket decals, and leftover nylon grille mesh. I opened up the 4 upper body vent areas, it was easier to grind it out and use mesh than it would have been to try to get flat black paint down there cleanly. I also put in a mesh grille between the taillights, you can just barely see the muffler inside. Mesh also overlaps the filler panels on the other grilles/intakes. I used paint to look like carbon fiber. I also altered the front of the body how the bumper fits, to get rid of the vertical parting line that all Revell and Tamiya Enzos have (only Fujimi got that right...). For a snap kit, it's pretty good. Headlight covers don't seem to fit great without a bit of tweaking, tire sidewalls typical Revell (too tall, barren of any detail), taillights molded to body required careful foiling and brush painting of clear red. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Before submitting review photos, I added a parts-box wiper, and got the headlight covers to fit properly. ![]()

Re: Ferrari Enzo
That color combo looks so good!
...and man, that doesn't look like a snap kit! I think the dark wheels helps hide those tall sidewalls. Great choice! So many great details in there. I like the way you can take a simple kit and make it look so darn good. I am starting to like the challenge of a Revell kit vs the easy work of the Tamiya. Super work Bob! Andy |

From the pictures if you didn't mention its the snap kit. There would be no way i would know, passes off as fujimi and maybe even tamiya from far away. Great build, nice color comobo.
