1997 Chevy radiator cracked, looking for replacement.

So along with my transmission giving out and my brakes making some funny noises, my radiator has a nice pressure crack on the right. I have attempted to JB weld it but it cracked right through that too. I have now decided to just replace it and stop being cheap. I went to an autoparts store and he told me that I have a "Single quad" radiator which I have no idea what that means. I was just wondering if I could get a dual radiator in there somehow?

Nevermind on this question, I just put a new single row back in, pretty necessary to get a double row if you don't tow huge things or race your truck.

I've done alot of repairs with JB Weld in my time and its pretty darn good stuff but it does have it's limitations. Just make sure the radiator isn't in a "bind". That is you don't have to force it into position to get it mounted. It should pretty much float in its mounts. Todays plastic radiators wont take much of stress.

I will post back on how it runs after I put a new heater hose in. What are the cons about getting a used heater hose assembly?

Re: 1997 Chevy radiator cracked, looking for replacement.

Ok so I've got my truck back from the auto shop and it runs great. I will check on antifreeze level in a couple days...I don't see any leeks as of 1/11/2013, I retrieved my truck on 1/07/2013. It appears that I've installed the radiator, lower hose, and heater hose correctly. All is well.
