2001 Suburban Problems after arc.

Have a 2001 Suburban that runs great. Had a blinker problem where relay would click at random times even without blinkers on. Pulled switch off and thought wires unhooked from switch. Now I know I was wrong. I forgot to unhook the battery before attempting the repair, which was dumb I know and I should know better.

In trying to get the wires off the switch, caused a small arc between a couple of them. Cleaned switch with electrical contact cleaner and blew dry with air. Blinker problem solved but then I noticed my remote keyless entry switch did not unlock doors. Also, no interior lights, headlights. Security light on constant. Tried to start it and it starts for a second but will not stay running. In looking at other reports of problems, looks like a Passlock problem caused by my sparking. Checked ALL the fuses and none bad.

Tried the start, leave key 'on' for 10 minutes, off for 15 seconds, on for 10, off for 15, on for ten, then restart (passlock relearn?). Nothing. Tried leaving the key in the ACC position for 15 minutes but nothing. Not sure if I am doing it right.

Any clues where else to look or what to check? I know my arc caused the problem and would have been avoided by unhooking the battery but hind sight is 20/20. Now I just have a nice rig that will not start. Need some helpful advise.

get a volt meter and check for fuses open. the arc is what will cause the fuse to blow. with the headlights not working I would expect a large sized fused.

We have removed and checked every fuse we can find. Have not used a meter on them but visually checked every one, and I mean EVERY fuse we can find. Even looked for hidden fuses but will do it again.

using a voltmeter is best. then check with the resistance [ohmmeter] for 0 ohms if fuse appears open.

a few times I have found bad fuses using a meter . looking at the fuse [eyes] the fuse looked good. this can occur when the fuse melts very slowly.

then you have loose fuse sockets which are from improper removal.

many wiggle the fuses out. this is bad.

fuse box under hood and inside on the dash.
