97 Jeep wont start
I currently have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee that I seems to die on me. I will charge the battery to 100 percent and its actually a good battery. The vehicle will run fine and then out of nowhere it wont start. I throw the battery jump box on it and it starts. I was thinking that something has been obviously drawing power from the battery. Any thoughts of what it could be?

Re: 97 Jeep wont start
You said the battery is good....just want to make sure it has been tested.
First thing is to make sure all the connections are tight; loose battery cables or a loose connection at the starter can cause your issue. One funky thing I've seen is corrosion INside the battery cables, and as far as 8" from the battery. If you cut the insulation and peel it back you should be able to see if there is corrosion or not. This WILL cause electrical issues over time, and if you have it the cables should be replaced. Check alternator. If the battery isn't charging, or is only getting a partial charge, that could cause your issue also. Do you ever have an issue with the engine just cutting off while driving?
