belkits Ford Fiesta WRC Solberg finland.

The belkits fiesta`s are available. I was very curious about them so i decided to build one OOB just to see how they build. In a while i`ll build the Rossi fiesta with some more detail ling but now the Sol berg.
I`m not really interested in the WRC. In my eyes it`s been boring and rules were adjusted to fit Citroen, so call it a Citroen cup if you like.
Why then this Sol berg. A while a go, a guy contacted me on face book. We started chatting and it was the man behind racing decals43. He got me interested in his decals and i bought the Sol berg livery. I`m always curious about a new brand. So this was a nice choice for an OB build.
I started dry fitting body and chassis and bottom parts. I build a couple of 207`s so it was no surprise that everything fitted very nice.

I`m not really happy with the front suspension, i like it when the front wheels can turn. In a later build i will adjust the parts so the front wheels can steer.
The only thing i upgraded was the exhaust pipe. I removed the original one and replaced it with a piece of evergreen rod to give it some more dept.

Then i did the same with the S2000 so i could compare the difference between gravel and asphalt version.

After dry fitting everything was painted and weathered. Now the bottom is ready.

I added some detail to the front of the body were the night lights are supposed to be.

After this the body was cleaned, panel line are done and the body is sprayed white with tamiya spray.

Next step are the interior and decalling the body.

Re: belkits Ford Fiesta WRC Solberg finland.

I started decalling yesterday. The decals from racing Decals43 are really good, better then i expected. They are very smooth and easy to work with. Much better kwality then renaissance, shunko and reji.

Re: belkits Ford Fiesta WRC Solberg finland.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I`m also working on the S2000 and that one`s in tarmac conversion. Both chassis are finished so here`s the difference between gravel and tarmac.

And the body is clearcoated. I used tamiya primer and paint, and gunze clear coat. Livery looks good, decals are great so up to the interior now.

Re: belkits Ford Fiesta WRC Solberg finland.

And finally an update. The interior is finished. Overall putting it together wasn`t that big of a problem accept for the roll cage. Putting that together needs some time and patience. But once finished, the result looks good.

And for the first time i used the airbrush to spray the panel lines. that looks much better

After the interior i sprayed the back bumper with X-18 so i don`t have that shinny glossy finish on that part.
Placed the lights and windows without a problem.
After that i put body and chassis together. The result looks good,

Up to the finnish now. ;D
