98 Expy interior light

I have read lots of posts about the door switchs and wd-40. But i have a little different problem. I bought mine with all lights staying on (of course all the bulbs were burnt out), i have checked fuses, switches and so for....so heres the deal, last night i turned on the cargo light (3 position switch) to get something out the back, and low and behold it works. Slid switch to the middle (door open) and the light was bright. After i shut the door the light dimmed, plus the read side light came on (dim of course). When i opened any door, the light went back to full brightness. Im assuming the door switches breaks ground and not the hot, so would this be a sign of a grounding problem? thanks
