Biggest Tire????

I have a 2001 Xterra with 15" inch wheels. What is the biggest size tire that I can fit onto my rig? 31" x 10.5 x 15"??

32's probably with some AAL's, good shocks, and some plastic flare trimming. Safest to go with 31's if you're stock.

Schlud, you don't need AALs or shocks to run 32s. Just trim the flare and a little torsion bar adjustment.

Any Problems ?

Has anybody had any problems with running 31" wheels on 15" rims with a stock Xterra? What about clearance for snow chains?

31's are basically the same size as stockers.

Last fall I put 31x10.5R15 BFG A/T KO tires on my 2000 X, and I certainly needed to do a bit of trimming on the front of the front tire mudflap mounts.

If I sit my stock 265/70(75?)R15 Long Trail beside one of the A/T's the A/T is at least an inch taller loaded than the Long Trail (on rim) is, unloaded. I think on the 2002 and later, the front wheelwell is a bit bigger and no trimming may be required.

The opening is exactly the same, but the flare/mudflap has essentially been pre-trimmed to clear the 265/65R17 (31x10.50) tires of the supercharged models. I can clear my 32x11.50 tires with mudflaps just by switching to the 2002 mudflap and trimming my '00 flare to match its contour.
